four simple steps

General

General

What is this XHTMLER?

XHTMLER is a service which slices and transforms your template into valid XHTML and CSS so you can carry on building your website.

When are you available?

We work from Monday to Friday. When needed we can work on the weekend for an additional fee.

How does your "3 Day Turnaround" guarantee work?

We guarantee 3 days turnaround which means you will receive completed markup within 3 business days after you make 50% deposit and provide us with all assets and necessary information. If you need it even quicker - let us know please. This time does not include revisions; depending on the amount of revisions you want this may take slightly longer.

I have a design that I need coded ASAP. Do you offer an express option?

While normally we ask for 3 business days* to code your design, an express delivery option is usually available for an additional fee. We respond to emails 7 days a week.

How does the "3 day" turn around work if I order more than 1 page?

If your order is for more then one page then each page after the inital page is 1 business day (24 hours). So if your order is for 10 pages then that would take 12 days (or less). The express option is only available for 2 pages or less.

Payment

Billing & Payments

What currency do you work with?

All prices listed on this website are in Canadian.

What is the method of payment?

We accept PayPal payments which means you can pay via credit or debit card as well. We would be happy to accept bank transfer but if you're in rush - it's better to use PayPal - we're getting money much faster and we can start working right away.

When do I pay?

We require a 50% up front before we start slicing your template. Once your template has been sliced and you're happy with it you can pay the remaining balance in order to receive your files. For established customers we offer NET 15 or NET 30 as well. After that we add a 2% late charge for every 30 days past due.

What happens if I'm not satisfied with your work?

We offer as many rounds of revision as needed to meet your requirements and expectations. By this we don't mean any revisions to original design or content you sent or changing assumptions we made on the beginning of the project. This kind of work is treated as additional and will be quoted separately.

Files

Files & Templates

What information would be useful to you?

Being more descriptive regarding the desired output will help us slice your template the way you want it and faster. Be sure to include the following as the minimum:
Source: Make sure you send us the source file of your template, preferably in PSD (Photoshop). Please name all layers properly and discard layers that are not being used.
Fonts: If your project uses custom fonts please be sure to include them.
Rollovers: Your website may have rollovers on certain elements such as the navigation or main links in your content, be sure to include their states (colours or images).
Other : If there's anything you can think of let us know, e.g. maybe you want one content box to have a fixed height, but if there's more content the height will auto-expand and not truncate. Maybe your navigation has flyouts.

Can you implement JavaScript?

Sure yes! Our initial quote includes some basic JavaScript implementation. For advanced implementations please contact us and we will revise the quote adequately. Or we will let you kow if we cannot do what you require.

Can you embed Flash files?

Yes we can. Please provide us with proper files and we will embed them in your XHTML and CSS templates.

What do you mean by a source file and what files should I provide you?

A source file is the file in which your template has all the information about layers, colours, fonts and other elements to your template saved. In order to achieve best output we recommend you send us the source file (PSD) as we can easily break up your layers and slice your site more efficiently. Any of the following formats are acceptable: Photoshop PSD (Preferred).

My site has custom effects, is this included in the price and how do I send you this information?

If your effect is something minor and doesn't require much coding it comes included in the price; however, if it does require additional time we'll charge a small fee for this. The elements that need to be displayed on this effect should be included as a separate file or simply as a layer on your source file (It can be hidden - if it is, let us know). Moreover, if you send a small description and outline that this has to be done it will help us! If it is an effect we are not comfortable with attempting then we will let you know.

Can you slice my template pixel perfect?

If your template needs to be sliced pixel perfect please let us know when submitting your order.

I have several files, how do I send them over?

If your website has several templates and additional files simply archive them in a ZIP or RAR format and upload them using the online order form.

Browsers

Browsers & Testing

What browsers do you test my website on?

Your website is tested on Internet Explorer 6 and 7 (PC), Mozilla Firefox (PC), Safari (Mac) and Opera (PC). Your sliced template will be compatible with the browsers mentioned above.

Do you support older browsers?

Sorry, we don't. All of our testing is done using the latest version of all the browsers mentioned above.

Do you use hacks for IE6?

No, we don't! In order to squash bugs for IE6 we include a separate stylesheet which has all the styles that need to be re-rendered on IE6.

Privacy

Privacy

Does your name appear on my sliced template?

Not at all! We respect your privacy and will never leave any sort of trace or link that leads to our website or any sort of contact information.

Can my template be kept private?

If your template has confidential information only our staff will be able to view it and yourself. NDA guaranteed!

Do you keep a copy of my sliced website?

In case anything goes wrong we always have a copy of your website and source files. However, we do not guarantee the availability of them; once your templates have been sent please store them in a suitable and safe location.

Do we display your site on our recently sliced sites section?

We will only add your site to our recently sliced sites section if we ask your permission to do so and you grant us that permission.

What about ownership and rights?

After our work is done you become the owner of the whole markup, including XHTML, CSS, images, Flash, JavaScript, etc...

Prepare your files

Before submitting orders please make sure the files we need are prepared and organized. If your website consists of more than one template simply compress all the files in ZIP format. Be sure to include fonts, layered source files and other documentation we may need. Some of our previous clients attach a document which explains how they want their final output to work, simply mentioning the way elements are laid out, how they work and their behaviour for examples. E.g. your tabs may contain a non-standard font, we can either slice tabs using your font (Making them complete images) or slice them so tabs work with HTML based text. Currently We accept design files that have been created within Adobe Photoshop® (.PSD) only.
